Stantec awarded contract to enhance political cooperation between the European Union and Republic of Korea
The European Union (EU) and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have long enjoyed a strong alliance between one another, with South Korea being one of the EU's four Strategic Partners in Asia. To bolster this relationship, Stantec was awarded the new phase of the EU Policy and Outreach Partnership (EUPOP) project by the European Commission. This initiative will put the spotlight on public diplomacy, where engagement activities will be carried out with key audiences such as the youth and civil society organisations.
The two eminent components of the project include two Model EU Simulations, which the team will design and coordinate with universities in RoK, and a civil society outreach campaign, where sustainable networks and development opportunities will be enhanced.
Our team is eager to launch this project where we will have a hand in strengthening the bilateral relations between the RoK and the EU. Our efforts will primarily be concentrated around social media and coordinated events, where our communications activities and outreach actions are intended to bring about an enhanced understanding among the local population of EU values, views, policies, and priorities, thus reinforcing trust and mutual understanding between the partnering nations.
The program will conclude with the organization of a national conference that is meant to serve both as a review of the progress accomplished by the CSO network created, but also as an opportunity to look ahead at how to maintain this mutually beneficial EU-RoK partnership.
