Jeff Siddall joins Stantec’s buildings practice

Senior electrical technologist brings over 30 years of experience

05/15/2020 OTTAWA, ON TSX, NYSE:STN

We are pleased to announce that Senior Electrical Technologist Wm Jeff Siddall has joined Stantec’s buildings team in Ottawa. Jeff brings more than 30 years of experience in high power electrical service design and implementation. He’ll be responsible for designing electrical power systems within campuses and buildings, as well as providing services during construction and commissioning.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jeff to Stantec,” says Josh Hale, Stantec’s managing leader for buildings in its Ontario North & East region. “We’re eager to leverage his extensive experience working on multi-discipline projects in municipal, utility, and industrial environments.”

For over a decade, Jeff has been a power distribution equipment technician and applications specialist as well as serving in management and supervisory roles. During the previous 20 years, he was an electrical system designer, senior technologist, department manager, and project manager. Recently, he’s worked on several pumping station projects in the Ottawa area, involving design and generator replacement.

“We’re delighted that Jeff has joined us,” says Peter Dyck, a senior principal in Stantec’s buildings practice and Jeff’s manager on the power systems team. “I’ve already noticed his strong communication skills, keen understanding of the consulting industry, commitment to client satisfaction, and understanding of electrical system problems and solutions.”

Jeff, who teaches part-time at a local community college, began his career on the sea – as a ships engineering officer. Some of his first work involved rebuilding and operating generators. Now, he specializes in the design and implementation of medium and low voltage distribution and motor control systems, standby/emergency power generation, uninterruptible power supplies, switchgear modification, and complex relay applications.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for solving electrical puzzles with Stantec and our clients,” says Jeff. “Whether it’s trouble-shooting a problem or designing a solution to a challenge, I get a thrill out of chasing down the fix. I also get immense satisfaction out of mentoring. Watching new talent develop is deeply rewarding.”
