Shruti Ramaker joins Stantec’s Environmental Services team in Santa Barbara

Industry veteran brings 20-year background with a focus on impact analyses and permitting

Shruti Ramaker has joined Stantec—a global architecture, engineering, and consulting firm—as a principal environmental planner and permitting specialist in its Santa Barbara, California, office. She has over 20 years of California experience on impact analyses, agency permitting, and management of multiple CEQA/NEPA environmental documents.

Ramaker’s experience has centered on utility projects, renewable energy projects, power generation, water resources, infrastructure, and oil and gas related remediation projects. Having both managed and authored applicant/proponent prepared environmental documentation as well as working with clients to obtain regulatory approvals, Ramaker has a strong grasp of important regulatory concepts and strategies in support of her projects and clients.

“Shruti’s expertise will help us continue to service our existing clients and grow our environmental services practice in California,” says Michael Weber, Stantec principal scientist. “She brings broad experience and provides a unique understanding of the big picture on projects. She is a responsive project manager and focused on the clients’ interests.”

Ramaker has extensive experience working with important California utility clients, including Pacific Gas & Electric, San Diego Gas & Electric, as well as private power developers. She has served as CEQA/NEPA technical author and advisor for multiple energy projects; she has also prepared and managed CEQA/NEPA documentation for dozens of other projects in other market sectors across the state.

Ramaker is a member of the Channel Counties Chapter of the Association of Environmental Professionals. She is a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara.
