Stantec named to Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Women

Stantec ranked sixth in the Professional Services category

Leading global design firm Stantec has been named to the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Women in 2020. Stantec is ranked sixth in the Professional Services category and 164 overall, out of 300 companies. The annual list is compiled by Forbes and Statista, a leading statistics and industry ranking provider, using responses from a survey of over 75,000 U.S. employees, 45,000 of which were women.

“It’s an honor for us to be recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Women,” said Gord Johnston, Stantec’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “At Stantec, we aim to foster opportunity by inviting, embracing, and celebrating diversity of all kinds. While we greatly value this acknowledgment, it also reminds us that our work here is not done in supporting a workplace culture that is grounded in respect and inclusivity.”

Forbes and Statista conducted the independent survey earlier this year with employees working for companies with at least 1,000 people in their U.S. operations. Questions focused on issues relevant to women in the workplace and were designed to shed light on their experiences. The participants assessed their companies according to the following: discrimination, family support, flexibility, parental leave, pay equity, and representation and career.

Additionally, participants were asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stand out either positively or negatively with regards to gender issues, from which only the recommendations of women were considered.
