Stantec strengthens California Healthcare team with strategic hires

Award-winning industry veterans deepen firm’s West Coast Healthcare expertise

08/14/2020 LOS ANGELES, CA TSX,NYSE:STN

Top 10 global design firm Stantec recently added two key principals to its Healthcare team in California. Boon Lim is joining the firm’s growing Los Angeles office, while Chu Foxlin joins Stantec’s San Francisco office. The two add decades of collective project experience to the firm’s West Coast Healthcare practice. Their additions further strengthen Stantec’s position in the California Healthcare market and solidify its expertise in delivering large, complex Healthcare projects.

Throughout Lim’s 30-plus year career in Healthcare and bio-medical architecture, he has provided critical leadership and creative solutions for public, institutional, and corporate clients, both domestic and abroad. He has led overall project management—including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and receivables—on some of the largest Healthcare projects in California and around the globe. Lim’s hire follows Stantec’s addition of Healthcare principal Scott Reed, as well as senior medical planner and project manager Maria Ionescu—completing a Los Angeles core team with deep knowledge of the Southern California health and wellness market. Lim’s past experience includes leadership roles on the 2 million-square-foot Providence Saint John’s Health Center Phase II Master Plan in Santa Monica, the HEI Center for Molecular Medicine in Los Angeles, Baxter BioScience LAMP Projects, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and the Beijing International Medical Center, where he led strategic facility planning alongside top local government officials. Lim is multilingual and fluent in English, Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Malay.

Foxlin is a versatile, skilled, and award-winning designer, with expertise in both interior and exterior design. She has an extensive background in Healthcare, science and technology, and higher education projects, and is bilingual in English and Mandarin, with experience in the Asian market. Foxlin has worked on some of the largest Healthcare design projects domestically and internationally, including the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital, the Duke University Cancer Center, the Boston Children’s Hospital Two Brookline Place, the Hong Kong Sanatorium Hospital, and the National Cancer Center of Singapore. Her work has won both local and national design awards.

In addition to these strategic hires, Stantec’s California Healthcare team is also welcoming principal mechanical engineer Orion Morrissey, who is relocating from Seattle to the firm’s Sacramento office. Morrissey is a 20-year experienced engineer who has led numerous domestic healthcare projects ranging from greenfield replacement to addition and renovation, and central utilities and infrastructure. Morrissey will provide leadership in integrated project delivery and will help grow and sustain key client relationships.
