Tariq Amlani named to Building Design + Construction’s Top 40 Under 40

Healthcare expert also recently promoted to sector leader for Canada

Tariq Amlani, P.Eng, LEED AP, Canadian health sector leader for Stantec, has been selected as one of Building Design + Construction’s Top 40 Under 40. The honor recognizes outstanding achievement in the career advancement, community service, and personal and professional development of individuals in the AEC industry.

A resource for the firm’s health team globally, Amlani consults on the procurement, design, and delivery of healthcare projects across the company and connects virtual teams in multiple Stantec offices worldwide. Amlani possesses a deep knowledge of best-practice healthcare design ranging from engineering systems design to project delivery types, including traditional, design-build, and public-private partnerships.

Notably, Amlani has been a project leader on more than a billion dollars of healthcare construction for clients such as the Kelowna Vernon Hospitals, North Island Hospitals, Royal Inland Hospital, McCormick Place Alternate Care Facility, and the recently completed Alex & Jo Campbell Centre for Health and Wellness.

Amlani has been active in a variety of professional organizations, including the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society (CHES), the Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group), past Governor and National YEA Chair with the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration Engineers (ASHRAE), and past member of the District of North Vancouver Energy Efficiency Working Group. Within Stantec, he is an active ideas coach on the global Creativity and Innovation team and a mentor to architecture and engineering students.
