04/05/2023 TORONTO, ON TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has selected Dave Sauve to lead its Transportation Business Line for North America. Sauve will be responsible for overseeing the business’s financial performance, talent attraction and development, resource management, client relationships, and project delivery. Stantec’s transportation business employs more than 2,500 people and is the largest business line within Infrastructure, which represents 29% of the firm’s business. Overall, Stantec Infrastructure saw 27% year-over-year growth in 2022, totaling CAD$1.3 billion in net revenue.

Sauve was most recently Stantec’s Infrastructure Innovation Leader and Infrastructure Major Projects Leader for Canada, where he focused on digital solutions and supported innovation development programs. He has provided oversight to the development of major infrastructure software and digital products, and supported the combined growth efforts of the firm’s GenerationAVTM, Smart(ER) Mobility, and Urban Mobility teams.

“Dave is passionate about leading and inspiring teams to deliver strong top and bottom-line results. He has demonstrated success across our four pillars of people, excellence, growth, and innovation,” said Susan Walter, executive vice president, Infrastructure at Stantec. “I am confident that Dave will bring the thoughtful and strategic approach needed to achieve our goals in Transportation, creating success and opportunity for our teams.”

Sauve joined the company in 2004 and has previously led Stantec’s business in both the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa. He is a professional civil engineer and urban planner with an MBA in Real Property Development and has a broad range of experience in the leadership, governance, and delivery of P3/Alternative Project Delivery (APD) and infrastructure projects.

“The future of transportation has never been more exciting as we move into a new era of mobility, technology, and sustainability,” said Sauve. “As we reshape the way we move, I am excited to leverage technology and innovation to help realize our clients’ vision.”

Brian Norris has been Stantec’s Transportation Business Leader for over 3 years and will be taking over the firm’s growing Program and Construction Management (PM/CM) business. Norris has already been central to some of Stantec’s most iconic PM/CM projects such as the Honolulu Rail Transit project and the Los Angeles Metro Purple Line Extension. With newly invested infrastructure funding in the United States and Canada, and favorable prospects globally, Stantec is poised to grow its PM/CM business significantly across its infrastructure, water engineering, energy and resources, and buildings businesses, as well as numerous geographies.

“This is an exciting time for getting shovels in the ground, and we see an enormous opportunity to help our clients execute on their projects,” said Norris. “Stantec has extensive experience integrating constructability into design, and we know what does and doesn’t work in the field. This has led to success in helping our clients navigate the execution of their construction plans.”
