Stantec places on The Globe and Mail’s Women Lead Here benchmark of executive gender diversity

03/24/2023 EDMONTON, AB; NEW YORK, NY; TORONTO, ON TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has been recognized in The Globe and Mail’s 2023 Report on Business, Women Lead Here list. For this year’s ranking, the Report on Business conducted a journalistic analysis of approximately 500 large publicly-traded Canadian companies based on revenue, evaluating the ratio of female-identifying to male-identifying executives in the top three tiers of executive leadership. The resultant data was applied to a weighted formula that also factored in company performance, diversity and year-to-year change.

“When women lead, it brings a unique perspective and balance to the workplace. Female leadership is a powerful force for positive change and has the potential to create a more inclusive, equitable and prosperous future for us all,” says Asifa Samji, Stantec chief people and inclusion officer. “The recognition of Stantec’s organic, employee driven progress is a reflection of our collective commitment to empowering women within our organization.”

In total, 90 companies earned the 2023 Women Lead Here seal, with a combined average of 46% of executive roles held by female-identifying individuals.

This benchmark was established in 2020 by Report on Business magazine and applies a proprietary research methodology to determine Canadian corporations with the highest degree of gender diversity among executive ranks. The ranking companies have made tangible and organizational progress related to executive gender parity.

The full list of 2023 Women Lead Here honorees can be found in the April issue of Report on Business magazine, and online now at tgam.ca/WomenLeadHere.
