The firm was also recognized for its Military Friendly Supplier Diversity Program and as a Military Friendly Brand

01/30/2023 EDMONTON, AB; NEW YORK, NY TSX, NYSE:STN

Leading global design firm Stantec has earned Military Friendly designations for 2023 in three categories, earning Gold status as a Military Friendly Employer and Top Ten status for its Military Friendly Supplier Diversity Program. The firm also received the designation of Military Friendly Brand. This is the first year the firm has earned Gold Status as Military Friendly Employer and the second year it has received the designation. Stantec ranks fifth on the Top 10 list of Military Friendly Supplier Diversity Programs.

The Military Friendly Company designation recognizes organizations committed to serving the military and veteran community. Military Friendly status measures companies’ commitment to military support based on six categories: recruiting and sourcing, policies and compliance, support and retention, culture and commitment, opportunity and advancement, and hiring and onboarding. The Military Friendly Supplier Diversity list focuses on companies that demonstrate their commitment to the veteran community by their inclusion of veteran-owned businesses in their supplier diversity programs. Stantec’s recognition by the Military Friendly Company designation is based on its US operations.

“As a company, we’ve long prided ourselves on our commitment to supporting and lifting up the veteran and military community,” said Chris Williams, senior vice president of Stantec’s US Federal program. “The contributions of veterans and their families are invaluable to our firm and the communities we serve. We remain steadfast in our dedication to continuing to provide resources that support veterans both at work and at home.”

Stantec’s Military and Veterans Advocate (MAVA) Initiative and employee resource group (ERG) facilitate the integration and engagement of members of the military community within the firm. Its three pillars of commitment to veterans are attraction, transition, and retention, providing support and guidance to help service members build long successful careers at Stantec. The MAVA ERG brings together veterans, reservists, guard members, spouses, and family members of service members to support a variety of initiatives. These include fulfilling care packages for local deployed service members, building houses for wounded warriors, and participating in memorial services for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
