The Moffatt & Nichol–Stantec Nationwide Joint Venture (JV), a partnership between global infrastructure advisory and engineering firm Moffatt & Nichol and global sustainable design and engineering leader Stantec, has been selected for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) $1 billion Nationwide Architect‑Engineer (A-E) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC).
Administered by the U.S. Coast Guard, the enterprise‑wide contract vehicle will deliver comprehensive architectural and engineering services across all 50 states and US territories. The contract covers architecture; civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering; geotechnical and coastal engineering; facility assessments; renovations; and new construction for a broad range of DHS-owned and leased facilities.
Work under the contract may include new construction, modifications, and renovations for operations buildings; hangars, boathouses, and firing ranges; residential and light commercial buildings; mechanical and electrical systems; and waterfront and coastal infrastructure.
Backed by extensive experience supporting DHS missions, nationwide reach, and a proven track record of delivering complex facilities and waterfront infrastructure, the Moffatt & Nichol–Stantec Nationwide JV is well positioned to provide DHS with responsive, multidisciplinary A‑E services tailored to regional and operational needs.
“This award highlights the strength of our JV, our longstanding support for DHS, and our ability to deliver high-quality, mission-focused A‑E services nationwide,” said Chris Cornell, global ports practice leader, Moffatt & Nichol. “We are honored to continue supporting DHS’s critical facilities across the country.”
“DHS facilities operate in demanding, mission-critical environments, and the work behind them must be practical, reliable, and built to respond,” said Chris Williams, senior vice president of Stantec’s US Federal Program. “Drawing on our long-standing experience, we are helping the Coast Guard and DHS translate each task order into facilities that strengthen the people and operations behind these essential missions.”
A partnership built on integrated federal design excellence
The Moffatt & Nichol–Stantec Nationwide JV brings together complementary strengths in planning, architecture, engineering, environmental services, and program delivery to provide comprehensive support for complex federal infrastructure programs.
Moffatt & Nichol supports federal clients with planning, studies, investigations, design, technical reviews, and construction support. Its many years of working on military installations and federally secure facilities give the firm deep knowledge of federal standards, Unified Facilities Criteria, agency processes, and task-order contracting. This experience helps enable the successful delivery of complex, mission-critical infrastructure that meets demanding requirements for quality, security, resilience, cost, and schedule performance.
Stantec complements these capabilities with a broad federal portfolio spanning multidisciplinary planning, architecture, engineering, environmental, infrastructure, and program management services for facilities ranging from military installations and federal buildings to healthcare, transportation, water, environmental, and mission-support facilities. This experience helps Stantec navigate complex federal requirements and deliver resilient solutions that support agency missions.
