Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, and GFT (formerly TranSystems), a privately held architecture, engineering, and construction firm, have been selected as a joint venture for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Northwest US$249 million Architect-Engineer Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract for multidisciplinary projects.
The five-year contract will provide multidisciplinary planning, design, and construction services for military and government facilities across the NAVFAC Northwest region, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. Projects may include new construction, repairs, demolition, upgrades, and related architectural and engineering work to strengthen mission-critical infrastructure, improve facility performance, and support long-term operations.
Leading multidisciplinary engineering and regional capability
Together, Stantec and GFT bring extensive regional experience, a strong local presence, and a deep bench of technical specialists from across North America. They will provide comprehensive architecture and engineering services supporting the modernization and resilience of critical naval and federal infrastructure.
“This selection reflects our longstanding commitment to supporting the mission of the U.S. Navy and other federal agencies through innovative, multidisciplinary infrastructure solutions,” said Chris Williams, senior vice president of Stantec’s U.S. Federal Program. “We look forward to building on our relationship with NAVFAC Northwest and helping deliver projects that provide lasting value to service members, installations, and the communities they support.”
“We are proud to continue growing GFT’s work serving the Navy and the broader federal market,” said Kevin Chafin, senior vice president and Federal director for GFT. “Our partnership with Stantec combines our deep federal experience, strong regional knowledge, and multidisciplinary technical capabilities that will allow us to deliver meaningful solutions for NAVFAC Northwest. We look forward to supporting the Navy with resilient, mission-ready infrastructure across the region.”
