Melbourne (Bourke Street), Australia
Welcome to Melbourne (Bourke Street), home to our water and buildings teams
Melbourne was named the world’s most livable city for its seventh consecutive year in 2017, reflecting its strong culture of diversity, creativity, and innovation.
While we’re passionate about design, we know the importance of recognising and celebrating the unique aspects that make us who we are. This is something that we extend to the work we do—and the way we do it.
Our Bourke Street workspace has been designed to reflect the way we work today, from quiet zones on one hand to a workshop area for teams to physically test their ideas on the other. We also have a VR room that allows us to take 2D drawings into a 3D environment and a “stadium” space for larger gatherings. We wanted to test the way we work and how we could improve and reflect that through the design of our office.
This thinking flows through to our client work. Whether we’re delivering electrical, security, vertical transportation, and sustainability services for the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre or navigating the challenges of constructing the luxury Jackalope Hotel adjacent to a heritage home and working vineyard—without impacting either—we lead with our creative and innovative approach.
We are currently applying this to the exciting next stage of the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) development in Hobart, which will feature a 5-star hotel, public library, theatre, health spa, conference centre, and outdoor performance space.
