If there was prize for the most interesting office name in Stantec’s global network then surely the Frog Hollow office, or the White Gum Flat office could well be contenders. Unfortunately for us all, as Sydney’s suburbs settled down into more prosaic names, the area that was to become Rockdale was renamed in 1878 after a brief stint as West Botany.

Located 12 kilometres south of the central business district (CBD), Rockdale is located just to the west of Botany Bay. The office sits on Frederick Street, only minutes from the station in the shopping area that acts as the high street for the suburb. Known for its bakeries, Rockdale is a multicultural, diverse community with many options for eating way too much.

The Rockdale office has a strong Geospatial team, with a history of delivering unique solutions to complex surveying problems. This work has ranged from building BIM 3D models for the refurbishment of a hospital in Coffs Harbour, to creating a survey of the Murrumbidgee river depths and surrounds, to creating a detailed model of key intersections within the CBD and providing cadastral and control surveys for the new Parramatta light rail.

As well as their work in geospatial, the office has a strong reputation in civil and structural engineering which matches their equally strong reputation in keeping clients happy and delivering on time and budget.
