Sydney (St Leonards), Australia

Welcome to Sydney (St Leonards), home to our buildings team

As Australia’s oldest city, Sydney retains many of the beautiful sandstone buildings from early British settlement, which still firmly stand their ground amongst the sprawling city that has grown around them.

This blend of the old and new—and the willingness to test boundaries and explore different thinking often required to successfully strike this balance—is reflected in two of our more recent projects.

The Greenland Centre includes a mixed-use residential tower (which will be the slenderest tower in Australia) and a boutique hotel constructed within the adjoining heritage-listed building, providing very different challenges within the individual properties.

The Sandstone Buildings project sees the redevelopment, restoration, and reinvention of two landmark buildings within Sydney’s central business district. Covering two entire city blocks, these properties feature detailed colonial architecture dating back to the late 1800s and have been reinvented and linked together as a luxury hotel and retail development.

Adopting the pioneering spirit for which Sydney is famous, our engineers strive to preserve the city’s natural and man-made landmarks and cultural heritage while reimagining its future.
