As a senior maritime engineer, Ali oversees the structural and geotechnical design of a range of maritime structures such as jetties, seawalls, wharves, pontoons, and breakwaters. Coastal conditions are complex and ever-changing—the challenge is what draws him to this type of work. He brings fresh thinking to solve problems and overcome obstacles, and finds practical, effective solutions that focus on safety and durability.

When he’s not designing resilient coastal infrastructure, Ali is passionate about dramatic literature, theatre, and cinema. He’s experienced in playwriting and has even had the opportunity to direct a short narrative film.
