Alyssa Bell

Principal, Senior Paleontologist

Photo of Alyssa

A senior paleontologist, Alyssa is passionate about protecting fossil resources and translating that passion into efficient project support. Since 2014, she’s worked in the environmental field, developing mitigation programs, and conducting resource evaluations for utility companies, federal, and local agencies, energy producers, and private developers throughout the western United States, primarily in California.

Alyssa has led field crews ranging in size from a few people to over 50 on private, state, and federal lands for both mitigation programs and research expeditions. During one recent project, she successfully led a 130-mile transmission corridor field survey on federal and private lands, resulting in revised geologic mapping and a paleontological resources assessment. Alyssa provided a precise, detailed sensitivity map, thus saving the client time and costs in monitoring expenses while ensuring resource protection.

Outside of work, Alyssa loves to travel with her dog, Abigail, and enjoys seeking out as much live music as possible.
