For over 20 years, Silvia has been advising government and private entities on transportation projects, using her skills in public engagement to build relationships with those impacted by proposed projects. Whether it’s a complex interchange design, new expressway, or a local road widening, Silvia helps to keep the public well informed.
Silvia believes that communities should have a voice in projects that affect them and she promotes outreach during the early planning stages so stakeholders become part of the developed solutions. Her experience includes planning, analysis, design, NEPA compliance and public involvement.
Silvia also provides clients with program management support services and most recently assisted the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) apply for and implement the Surface Transportation Project Delivery Program (NEPA Assignment). She has also been instrumental in expanding FDOT’s Statewide Acceleration Transformation (SWAT) Process to aimed at systematically streamlining project delivery from initial planning through construction.
Some of her recent NEPA studies include the extension of SR 836 in Miami-Dade County, the I-95 PD&E Study from Commercial Boulevard to Cypress Creek Road and the I-95 Express Lanes PD&E Study in Broward County, as well as other local and regional efforts.
During downtime, Silvia enjoys running and heading to the Sunshine State’s beaches.
