David has more than 14 years of experience in the biological sciences including research, environmental investigation, permitting, and wildlife surveys. And for more than six years he served as both the transportation and energy regulatory ecologist for the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism. There, David helped coordinate state and federal permits, oversaw the fee option program, and designed the performance criteria for mitigation sites.
He was the sole manager of reptile, amphibian, and turtle conservation, including managing research, developing monitoring protocols, commenting on collection permits, and supporting public interaction. Currently, David manages wildlife and habitat surveys for wind and solar projects in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, and South Dakota and coordinates ecosystem restoration services out of the Overland Park office.
In his spare time, David enjoys introducing his children to the outdoors including hiking, hunting, and fishing.
