Kyle became interested in foundation design in high school, so geotechnical engineering was a perfect career fit. Working on a variety of structures over the years has given him an in-depth understanding of the design and construction issues clients face with foundations, earthwork, retaining structures, slope stability, and pavements. Using a suite of computer programs like Slope/W, SEEP/W, and others, he enhances project designs through targeted analysis.
One of Kyle’s most rewarding project experiences was with a series of saddle dams. Working on all aspects of the project from analysis and calculations, to development of plans and specifications, to performing on-site quality assurance observations for construction gave him the big picture perspective he wanted. He makes it a point to drive past the sites when he can, remembering he helped create those dam safety solutions.
Outside of the office, Kyle loves playing basketball and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
