As a mechanical engineer, Derek uses his in-depth knowledge and understanding of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation building systems to optimize the way we use energy for a more sustainable future.
Derek understands all key aspects of multidisciplinary projects. He’s led several, including the Centennial Flame modernization project at Parliament Hill with Public Services and Procurement Canada and the design for an aboveground diesel fuel storage tank system for an emergency generator for the Kanata West Pumping Station. Derek enjoys building relationships with his clients—he thinks from the client’s point of view and delivers projects on-budget and on-schedule. Derek’s openness and dedication to work with his clients to achieve project goals is both recognized and appreciated by his clients, team, and peers.
Ever since becoming a homeowner, Derek has been helping his family around the house with renovations and gardening. He takes a break on weekend nights to cheer on his favorite hockey team, the Ottawa Senators.
