A principal civil engineer, Derek has more than two decades of international experience. Specializing in water and wastewater engineering, he has experience in every stage of the project life cycle, from planning and design to delivery. His expertise ranges from project management and site supervision to producing construction-ready documentation. He also has experience in detailed design, feasibility studies, option development, hydraulic design, and network modeling.
Derek manages and leads the design for various water and wastewater projects, working with multidisciplinary teams and prioritizing clear communication and trust. He has also served as project manager, design manager, and resident engineer on major urban sewer upgrades—and has led pipeline design and site civil engineering for a large reservoir project in Qatar.
Away from his water and wastewater engineering work, Derek enjoys coaching at his local soccer club and participating in triathlons.
