A geotechnical engineer with experience in the mining and water sectors, Nick’s expertise lies in the design, construction, operation, and closure of tailings facilities. He works with tailings storage facilities (TSFs) in all stages, with a focus on design and operational support. He has contributed to some of the largest (and smallest) tailings projects in the world.
Nick recently completed designs for two large, extreme-hazard dams as part of the Quebrada Linga TSF at Cerro Verde Mine in Peru and provides regular construction support. He is the lead designer for a new TSF for the same mine. He also regularly leads geological and geotechnical investigations and supports non-technical work like permitting. He has contributed to major civil projects such as the Panama Canal expansion.
Away from work, Nick enjoys spending time with his family. Together, they volunteer weekly through their local church and enjoy the outdoors of Colorado as much as possible.
