A principal in our Community Development group, Kurtis brings over 20 years of experience across engineering consulting and municipal approvals in Calgary’s land development system. He has focused his career on the planning, financing, approval, and delivery of developer-funded municipal infrastructure that supports new communities.
Serving as a bridge between developers, engineering consultants, and municipalities, Kurtis helps translate policy intent into practical delivery systems that improve predictability, reduce risk, and accelerate community build-out. He’s worked on development agreements, offsite levy and oversize recovery frameworks, risk-based engineering review, and modernization of approval and security processes.
Kurtis believes the future of city building depends on combining disciplined risk management with stronger relationships and smarter use of technology. He’s passionate about mentoring the next generation of city builders—professionals who combine sound engineering judgment with relationship management, pragmatic innovation, and continuous improvement. For clients, this means access to trusted technical, financial, and regulatory advice, supported by top talent and emerging technologies that strengthen decision-making and delivery.
