With Peter’s recent arrival to the Company in March 2018, we also officially launched the Underground Mining area for our Chile operation, a perfect complement to our long trajectory in Geotechnical Engineering and Tailings.
With over 25 years of experience in the mineral resource sector, Peter has worked on research, consulting, and in mining operations. Throughout his career he’s been responsible for planning and managing mining project studies from initial site investigations, analysis, and design through to operational risk assessments, due diligence, audits/reviews, and project closure.
Peter holds a doctorate in Rock Mechanics, a masters of science engineering in Mining Geomechanics from WASM (Curtin University), and a bachelors of applied science in Applied Geology (from RMIT University). He has vast experience working for projects in Latin America as a technical leader in rock mechanics for various types of infrastructure including open pit and underground mining, bridges, dams, tunnels, and major rock foundations.
In his spare time, Peter enjoys running and traveling. As he was born in Australia, his native language is English, but he’s also fluent in Spanish, having lived in Santiago for several years.
