Who doesn’t love old buildings? Matt believes that every building holds special value—historical, environmental, economic, or personal. Over his 40-plus year career, he’s dedicated himself to preserving and reusing existing buildings, modernizing structures to meet current and future needs while honoring their past.

Leading multidisciplinary teams, Matt reveals each building’s potential, using its character to inspire innovative design. He approaches every project with equal passion and fascination. Some of his project include the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the Warfield House at Gettysburg National Battlefield, and Louis Kahn’s Richards Medical Research Laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania.

Through national organizations and publications, Matt shares the stories and lessons learned from these projects, celebrating the communities they represent and creating a more sustainable future rooted in our shared history.
