Originally from London, United Kingdom, Melanie builds energy models to assess the energy consumption of building designs. Now a senior energy management engineer, Melanie’s models must comply with LEED rating systems and the Manitoba Energy Code. She provides energy-efficiency design assistance for our architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams.
The best part of Melanie’s job? To her, it’s the opportunity to problem solve. Energy modelling can be frustrating at times—whether it’s a design problem or the energy model itself not behaving how you expected—but once you find the solution, it’s the best feeling ever.
With the goal of encouraging a higher participation of women in the engineering fields, Melanie volunteers as part of Committee for Increasing the Participation of Women in Engineering (CIPWIE) Mentorship Program.
