Ian has 28 years of experience in design and operational activities for new and improved facilities within the water, wastewater, and wastewater sludge and odour environments. He’s also fully accredited with IChemE HAZOP training (a hazard and operability design review framework) and a study facilitator with over one hundred HAZOP delivered. These have included international assignments to Oman, Morocco, Kazakhstan, and Cairo.
Embracing the virtue of the HAZOP technique, Ian advances the chemical engineering discipline in both creating and critiquing a hugely diverse range of process design outputs. He’s also an industry recognised figure in waste and wastewater odour abatement, having contributed to multiple UK odour working groups and given comment to various key publications such as the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Code of Practice for Odour, and the Environment Agency Odour IPPC H4 Document,
