A project director in our Health studio, Kent has been a practicing architect for over 30 years and has worked on over 100 projects on more than 40 hospital/university campuses. He has served on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Board of Directors, the AIA Gold Medal Jury, the Architecture Magazine advisory council, the National Intern Development Program coordinating committee, and four National Architect Accrediting Board (NAAB) college accreditation teams. Kent has extensive experience managing complex projects with multiple user streams and multiple consultants. He’s responsible for maintaining project communications, workplans, schedules, adherence to budgets, and the organization of all documentation.
Kent believes in the value of an integrated design process where he works in tandem with the owner, contractor, and subconsultants—especially when renovating projects in active hospitals. Recently, he successfully led this type of projects with the completion of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital 22nd floor and 17th floor renovations.
An active sportsman his entire life, Kent has completed the Chicago Marathon and continues to enjoy cycling, golf, and his vintage baseball league.
