Dr Rachel has worked on a wide range of projects over her 18 years at Stantec. She is currently delivering projects mitigating the impact of abstraction on Chalk rivers in the UK. Rachel works to ensure that there is water for all users, balancing the demands of the environment and population in a changing climate and political structure. Rachel’s project experience has been wide ranging crossing between water supply, infrastructure resilience, contaminated land management and wastewater discharge. She has been involved in managing fuel spill issues for a multinational client while at Stantec.

As head of water resources at Stantec, Rachel leads a team providing services across all aspects of the water environment, including water resources, hydrology, catchment management and flood risk. She also acts as a technical lead in risk assessment and contaminant transport modelling and undertakes technical reviews for contaminated land and hydrogeology projects.

With a background in sediment geochemistry, groundwater and ecotoxicology, her skills have been applied in contracts for utility companies, local authorities, the defence sector, government and property owners on gasworks, landfill, water resources, pipeline construction and airports.
