Martin Dix

Sector Leader, Advanced Manufacturing, Mission Critical Facilities, and Data Centers

With over four decades of experience as a structural engineer, Martin spent 15 years leading our UK and Ireland Buildings team. He now serves as the sector leader for our Advanced Manufacturing, Mission Critical Facilities, and Data Centers group. He has extensive experience delivering high-profile buildings in the advanced manufacturing and mission critical sectors. Some of his projects include the UK’s largest battery manufacturing facility in Somerset and the award-winning McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey.

As well as delivering complex projects, Martin is known for his technical understanding, project management skills, creating and motivating high-performing teams, and making the design process more efficient. He is adept at building and coordinating global teams and designing and implementing management techniques to increase program efficiency.

Martin is extremely passionate about social mobility. He has been vice chair of the Construction and Built Environment Route Panel for Skills England (previously IFATE) for many years, advising on the development of apprenticeships in England. He also plays a key role on our Apprenticeship Steering Committee, helping to shape our apprenticeship program.
