Out of Chicago, Illinois, Peter is a senior electric power system engineer, a member of the IEEE, and the chair of the Advanced Pumped Storage Modeling Task Force. He has significant—and recent—experience with advanced pumped storage technology, including adjustable speed doubly-fed induction motor/generators, converter-fed synchronous motor generators, and ternary units.
Peter was a contributing member on the Argonne National Laboratory team for the Modeling and Analysis of Value of Advanced Pumped Storage Hydropower assignment. His efforts focused on the modeling and description of technical characteristics associated with advanced pumped storage technologies.
In the US, Peter is heavily-involved with the analysis of power transmission interconnection requirements for Non-Utility Generators and evaluation of distribution system planning and reliability. More recently, he has contributed comments to the National Hydro Association on recent energy storage market issues.
