Daniel Dupon

Technical Leader, Mine Water Treatment

Photo of Daniel

As an expert in the treatment of mining-influenced waters, Dan can define solutions for a vast array of water-quality problems. His career has primarily focused on the evaluation and recommendation of treatment processes for mine wastewaters—as part of reclamation planning and water management. In his 20-plus years of experience, Dan has worked with a vast array of technologies, including membrane separation (reverse osmosis and nanofiltration), lime softening, enhanced coagulation, ion exchange, and biological reduction.

Recently, at the Midnite Uranium Mine just outside of Spokane, Washington, Dan and his team took only ten months to go from formulating a pilot test work plan to completed, detailed design. It was a large project that required a diverse base of strengths and expertise, and Dan is particularly proud to have reached completion with exceptional efficiency as they worked through multiple agency reviews and coordination with the local tribal representatives.

Working with his family, Dan has renovated and flipped over a dozen homes in the Fort Collins area. Their current (and best) project is the construction of a 3,000-square-foot barn on their property. For Dan, building and renovating serves to balance the typical tasks he completes during the work day.
