With experience supporting renewable energy projects, Sydney has a focus on bat habitat conservation plans and regulatory compliance under the Endangered Species Act. Her work centers on regulatory documentation, impact assessment, and the use of post‑construction mortality monitoring data to support permit compliance and adaptive management at wind energy facilities.
Sydney’s goal is to contribute to the conservation of bat species while enabling renewable energy projects to operate successfully and support the energy transition. She contributes to projects that apply innovative tools such as EchoPITCH, Stantec’s smart curtailment platform. This program helps inform bat risk evaluations and operational decision‑making using acoustic monitoring data, which translates data into clear, defensible documentation that supports regulatory compliance and informed decision‑making.
Outside of work, Sydney enjoys traveling and being outdoors, where her interest in the environment first began.
