Carl Ferraro

Senior Environmental Scientist

Photo of Carl

With more than 25 years of experience working in coastal programs, Carl provides clients with the expertise needed to successfully plan coastal restoration and economic development projects. These innovative plans and designs work with natural systems, leveraging our “eco capital” to reduce impacts to coastal resources. Carl hopes to improve the resilience of coastal communities as they face an uncertain future of population growth coupled with the threats of sea level rise and increasingly extreme weather events.

Most of Carl’s work focuses on business development for projects in Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle that were funded by the various settlements resulting from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He’s also involved in business development opportunities related to coastal restoration, environmental compliance, and community resilience across the Gulf.

A founding member of the Gulf of Mexico Alliance and former co-chair of the GOMA Habitat Team’s Beneficial Use of Dredged Materials/Regional Sediment Management Subcommittee for over 10 years, Carl has worked with teams that have had a significant impact in coastal restoration. When he isn’t at work, you might find him camping with his family in their rebuilt 1973 Serro Scotty camper.
