As a child, Mark loved building things, whether with Tonka trucks in the sandbox or a hammer and nails. That early passion eventually evolved into a career in water resources engineering. Today, he works with public agencies across the Western US to improve safety, reduce flood risks, and support long-term water management. He helps communities plan and manage water infrastructure that includes dams, levees, watersheds, and drainage systems.
Mark enjoys tackling complex challenges and seeing projects move from ideas to construction, creating lasting benefits for communities. Applying more than two decades of experience, he’s committed to developing practical, resilient solutions and fostering collaboration among project teams. He’s active in the Association of State Dam Safety Officials on their Public Safety at Dams committee, Arizona Floodplain Management Association (AFMA), and American Society of Civil Engineers, where he serves as AFMA's treasurer and mentors emerging professionals.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys mountain biking, paddleboarding, and snowboarding.
