Bernard is a chartered accountant and a member of our senior financial leadership team located in Edmonton, Alberta. He’s had a broad and dynamic career at Stantec spanning financial services, corporate development, and operations. These days, Bernard provides leadership and strategic management to several financial groups: External Financial Reporting, Transaction Services, Tax, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Canadian Payroll. He also supports the executive and Functional Support leadership teams.
One of Bernard’s major projects—which helped form Stantec into what it is today—was his leadership in the implementation of our predecessor enterprise system “Solomon.” After that, Bernard transitioned to corporate development and supported acquisitions with business valuation, due diligence, and financial integration management services. Then it was back into financial services where he oversaw Canadian regional financial services and financial technical services.
Bernard recently celebrated his 20th anniversary with Stantec, and after all his time here, he says the best thing about the company is the community that’s been built within. “We have great teams filled with results-oriented people ready to take on each day’s challenges.”
Passionate about travelling, Bernard has been to just about every continent. His next gap to fill is South America.
