As a kid, Kevin enjoyed taking things apart and then building them up again. When he was in university, he discovered geomatics—Kevin thought it looked like something fun and different, and he was right—he turned it into a career and passion that’s lasted more than 15 years.
Kevin’s love of building things hasn’t changed. He builds custom unmanned aerial systems (UAS) as a hobby, and is our UAS Operations Manager, growing the use and integration of UAS into design workflows. Kevin leads the Mobile Work Practices effort under the Practice Technology group that is working towards the adoption and growth of mobile technology on our projects. This includes finding ways to leverage cellphones in the field as efficient data collection tools, and using reality capture devices like laser scanning and photogrammetry with drones and cameras. His expertise in reality capture combined with a knack for developing efficiencies in field collection have helped teams across Stantec adopt all kinds of technology successfully.
Outside of work Kevin enjoys travelling, doing outdoor activities with his kids, and always finding new ways to learn.
