Carl's interest in design began with countless Lego creations and a fascination with classic James Bond villain lairs. Now with more than 30 years of experience in architecture and design, he helps clients turn complex challenges into practical design solutions that help improve how people live, learn, heal, and connect. A leader in design, client engagement, practice building, and behavioral health planning, he works across healthcare, higher education, and civic infrastructure projects.
Believing that architecture can support wellness, strengthen communities, and advance environmental resilience, Carl brings multidisciplinary teams together to help clients achieve those goals. He works closely with clients to understand their needs, uncover opportunities, and find connections others may overlook. Whether the focus is behavioral health, campus wellness, environmental stewardship, or civic engagement, he helps organizations see new possibilities and develop solutions that can grow and adapt over time.
Outside of work, Carl enjoys cycling, road and gravel racing, hiking, spending time on the Oregon coast, and trying to improve his guitar playing.
