As a principal architect Charlie, has led transformative projects to change the face of St. John’s, Newfoundland. The Rooms, Newfoundland’s largest public cultural space, the St. John’s Convention Centre renovation and expansion, and Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine and Craig Dobbin Genetics Research Centre all represent Charlie’s vision for his hometown.
As Newfoundland and Labrador sits a little further-afield from the mainland, the market for major projects is characteristically smaller. That has provided Charlie the opportunity to dive into a wider variety of projects, both in the public and private sector.
Driven by a dedication to client satisfaction, Charlie ultimately values being a problem solver and identifies as a service provider. He’s constantly seeking to improve upon the last project, and whatever he’s learned, he passes on to colleagues and clients. He values mentorship and understands the importance of creating opportunities to share his expertise with others.
