Helping to build our data science group, Marisa is a data engineer and scientist in our Digital Services team. In this role, she’s working to bring machine learning to our engineering work. Known for her work in predictive analytics, causal inference, and data visualization, Marisa loves telling stories with data.
Marisa also loves the problem solving that inherently comes along with being a data scientist. She believes being able to communicate insights from complex data and models is key to making data science actionable. Beyond her daily responsibilities, Marisa finds purpose in mentoring engineering students and has previous experience advising an Engineering Without Borders team at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Passionate about social justice and sustainability issues, Marisa is keen about making cities more pedestrian and cyclist friendly. She enjoys biking around cities, reading, hiking, and making things—from knitting, to drawing, to DIY projects.
