Mike is a principal and sector leader in our Transportation practice, bringing nearly 30 years of advanced traffic and intelligent transportation system (ITS) engineering to Stantec. In this role, Mike focuses on growing our Atlanta Transportation practice and providing leadership to its traffic engineering and ITS practice throughout Georgia and the Carolinas.
Throughout his career, Mike has led a variety of transportation projects across the region including traffic studies, traffic signal design, communications design, ITS device design, signal timing, and tolling. His design approach? Blending innovation, constructability, and cost efficiency.
Among his achievements, he managed the Fast Forward ITS deployment for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), where he led teams to design over 60 miles of freeway management system communications and devices, including GDOT’s widescale deployment of over 160 ramp meters.
Mike has a deep commitment to the transportation community. He’s the past president and an active member of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Georgia and past president of the Georgia Section Institute of Transportation Engineers. He also enjoys mentoring junior staff members and volunteering through several organizations.
