Joseph has more than 20 years of project experience from vertical construction to large-scale wet infrastructure. He’s integrated building information modeling (BIM) practices and other bleeding-edge technologies, and he regularly presents BIM-related topics to universities and global industry groups at international conferences. Specializing in clash detection tasks during the design coordination review, Joseph also works on proposal design visualization and design communication to internal and external stakeholders.

As the BIM manager for the Panama Canal Expansion, the Third Set of Locks project, Joseph managed and coordinated more than 50 models across multiple offices on four different continents. That project was key to opening the BIM world for MWH, now part of Stantec—and a lot of lessons were learned.

Active as a professional member of the American Institute of Architects, Joseph also teaches virtual, augmented, and mixed reality as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University. But, if he had his choice, he’d travel the world. Closer to home, he enjoys walking around the city of Chicago, exploring whatever new stuff pops up.
