Selen joined Stantec in November 2019 in the role of Business Development Manager for TurSEFF, the Turkey Sustainable Energy Financing Facility, a project by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). With a degree in chemical engineering and a masters in energy conversion and management, Selen has 19 years of experience in various segments of the energy business including power plant investments, electricity trading, renewable energy, electricity market and engineering and design. She has made a career out of consulting leading global renewable energy companies and international financial institutions.
Selen approaches international energy projects from all angles, providing insights from the technical, financial, legal and commercial points of view. Leveraging the knowledge she has built on throughout her career, on different types of power plants–natural gas combined cycle, hydro, solar, wind, and waste-to-energy, she has supported energy projects which cover well over 2,200 MW.
An outspoken professional and leader in her field, Selen is sought after speaker for webinars and events. She has been active in the Turkish entrepreneurial ecosystem, mentoring various renewable energy start-ups and working to advance the role and recognition of women working in the energy sector in Turkey and globally.
