Theresa is an executive vice president and Stantec’s chief financial officer (CFO). For Theresa, leadership means building strong relationships based on trust, openness, and mutual respect.
With more than 25 years of experience, Theresa has an extensive background in the areas of finance, corporate governance, and people leadership. She brings expertise in strategy development, capital markets, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting and accounting, long-range planning, and enterprise risk management.
In her previous role as senior vice president and CFO of Veresen Inc., a Calgary, Alberta-based energy infrastructure company, Theresa played a key role in the development and execution of strategies that helped that company grow its enterprise value from $3 billion in 2006 to almost $10 billion in 2017. Prior to Veresen, Theresa held positions at TransCanada Corporation and Ernst & Young. In November 2017, Theresa was appointed to the board of directors for Bonavista Energy Corporation.
Theresa actively supports the advancement of women’s leadership through numerous groups that focus on young professionals and woman in the industry, such as the Calgary Chapter of Women in Capital Markets. She has served as a panelist for diversity-focused forums including Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit and EY Women Fast Forward, and she has provided mentorship to young women professionals throughout her career.
