Having performed coastal engineering services for well over a decade, Arturo has developed technical skills in metocean (meteorology and ocean) data analysis, shoreline protection design, scour protection, design of coastal structures, vessel berthing and mooring studies, beach nourishment, and dredging. His coastal engineering work also includes extensive experience with the MIKE 21 suite of models to perform numerical modeling of coastal areas, which includes hydrodynamic (2D and 3D), wave, tropical cyclone, sediment transport, and tsunami modeling.
Arturo’s favorite part about coastal engineering is the research component involved in most projects. This provides him with an opportunity to apply findings from scientific literature to projects in a creative way.
Outside of work, Arturo enjoys playing and watching tennis, traveling, working on home projects, and being a husband and dad.
