Ramandeep assists municipalities with understanding their infrastructure networks—primarily surface infrastructure such as pavements, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and signs. His responsibilities are to locate the assets, determine their condition, and provide the client with an understanding of budget requirements for maintenance or improvements. Ramandeep’s specialty? Applying prioritization algorithms to capital planning—with these insights he can output optimal projects based on safety, traffic volumes, asset conditions, proximity to important places, and equity.
The initiative that is nearest and dearest to his heart is bringing social equity and justice to the world of asset management and urban planning/ design. As a civil engineer, Ramandeep shapes and designs communities which can last for generations. He uses that opportunity to identify and challenge lopsided policies and practices, to break down bias towards people with wealth and privilege, and to create a space for the equitable growth and prosperity of communities.
Outside of asset management, Ramandeep is a tutor, photographer, and sports fan (particularly basketball, cricket, and tennis). He’s interested in transformative technologies, especially blockchain technology and Bitcoin. He works to bring an optimistic and joyous energy to the world, especially as he advocates for social equity and justice.
