Where the ocean meets land is a harsh environment. Amer is a structural engineer specializing in maritime and coastal structures that enable people and goods to cross from shore to ship and begin their journey. With more than 13 years’ experience working on large-scale infrastructure in the Middle East and Australia, Amer has comprehensive knowledge in maritime structures comprising jetty and marina design, seawater intake, port planning, feasibly studies, environmental impact assessment, and hydrodynamic modelling.

Known as both a collaborator and innovator among his colleagues and clients, Amer enjoys developing creative solutions backed with sound engineering. Some projects he is proud to have worked on include the Warneet Precinct Detail Design, and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands Ferry Terminals. Significant projects in Iran include the Hara Qeshm 70,000 DWT Crude Oil Terminal Port and Refinery, and the Genaveh EPC Combined Cycled Power Plant.

In his spare time, Amer enjoys time with his family, exploring Melbourne’s vibrant dining scene, and occasionally fishing on the shores of Port Phillip Bay.
