Peter is a project manager focused on the geotechnical design of mine waste storage facilities. He’s worked on designs for filtered tailings facilities, conventional tailings facilities, and mine rock dumps. His work includes inspections and operational support, and he’s worked primarily in Canada and Turkey.
As the geotechnical engineer of record for surface waste storage facilities during operations for the Efemçukuru Mine in Turkey, Peter has helped contribute to the project’s status as a sustainable mining endeavor. The work there, which Stantec team members have been involved in since conceptual design, combines best available practices and best available technologies with a continuous improvement management approach.
When Peter isn’t at work, he’s probably spending time with his wife and two kids or playing hockey. He plays defense for teams in both the ASHL in Burnaby and the Duffers League in North Vancouver. He and his teammates also play in a non-league tournament every other year, the most recent of which was Whistler 2019.
