Dane has more than a decade of experience addressing sustainability challenges in diverse energy sector roles. He advances projects that implement smart grid technologies and reimagine how energy systems service buildings, transportation systems, and communities.
Dane enjoys keeping up with the rapid innovations and continuous policy changes impacting the energy sector. He applies this knowledge to support varied client needs, such as conceptualizing microgrid projects and evaluating revenue potential for projects in different jurisdictions.
He assesses the battery energy storage system markets, planning for fleet and transit electrification, and he supports energy conservation initiatives in the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Dane has also supported renewable energy deployment in East Africa and municipal sustainability programs in South Africa. Currently, he’s leading a Maui County community-driven sustainable energy planning project to meet 100% renewable targets.
Focused on understanding smart grid technology deployment, Dane completed a PhD examining sustainable energy transitions. He works to facilitate institutional and regulatory change as well as social acceptance of emerging technologies.
