Dalton LaVoie

Senior Associate, Landscape Architect

Photo of Dalton

Dalton is a landscape architect with twelve years of experience on a broad range of public and private projects including public parks and plazas, public art, waterfronts, commercial/retail developments, streetscapes, environmental impact documents, public infrastructure facilities, transportation planning and design, master planned communities, and mixed-use developments.

His philosophy in the art and science of landscape architecture is best summarized in three words: “life grows here.” His approach emphasizes that our work, the design and stewardship of our built and natural environment, sets the stage for life to grow—both our diverse personal lives and the diversity of life (living things) on Earth. His life and career goal is to create a world where both flourish, together. This intersection of art and architecture was key to his and Cary Baird’s work on the Boulder City Bypass.

Dalton is active on local and national platforms for the advancement of the landscape architecture profession, both through his work in the Company and his service in the American Society of Landscape Architects. He calls Sacramento home and on nights and weekends can be found exploring the vast urban and recreational amenities the city and region have to offer.
